In the past, 80's and 90's, the LGE used to have a pretty lousy reputation. With hindsight I think that the LGE acted like a kind of a magnet for a certain category teachers who would have been better bared from teaching or even, for some of them, even sent or locked up at psychiatric institution. How far this is the case nowadays, I cannot tell. But I assume it is still pretty bad. When I hear and read that an ex-English teacher, who was very well known for verbally molesting his female student during class time- and that was a widely known fact at my time being there, metamorphosed, so to speak into the “Directeur-adjoint” of the LGE, I hardly can catch up with reality. Or do I need to put on my surreal spectacles to catch up with reality and utter for myself: it is a new brave new world, again?
