I have good memories of my time at this school thanks to my classmates. However, I had a very difficult experience with Ms. Nathalie LAMBERT, particularly hard with students in difficulty, like me. ”I particularly remember a trip to the swimming pool. While we were in swimming class, Ms. Lambert asked me to get out of the water without much explanation. I went towards her and she took advantage of this moment to show my condition to her colleague, laughing at me before immediately throwing me back into the water. This moment was very confusing for me and I didn’t understand anything at the time.” This event had a profound impact on me. It is important to clarify that my academic difficulties were distinct from my personal condition, a particularity with which I was born. Children deserve to be treated with respect, whatever the nature of their challenges. Teachers should receive extensive training in pedagogy to be able to treat all students in a fair, understanding and respectful manner. Parents should be vigilant if their children are in his class. Today, as an adult, when I think about this event, I am very shocked. I could never treat anyone this way and I find it very sad. I hold no grudges, but it is crucial that Ms. Lambert understands the impact of her actions on students, even those who are struggling. Every child, whatever their background, deserves to be respected and supported. In return, I was fortunate to have another teacher, Mr. Cliff, who had a profound positive impact on me. He never treated me differently because of my academic difficulties. He was very understanding and respectful, which made him an excellent primary school teacher. If your child has the opportunity to have him as a teacher, he will be in good hands. Mr. Cliff truly knows how to make a difference and deserves to be an example for all teachers to follow. I don't know if Ms. Lambert still works there, but I hope my words help raise awareness of the importance of better teacher training and fair treatment for all children at school!
