Présentation

At the International School of Luxembourg, through learning and growing up together in our inclusive society, our students develop an understanding of, and appreciation for, different nationalities, cultures and faiths. In a spirit of empathy and tolerance, our students continually evolve their individual and cultural identities while openly embracing membership of a community that is socially, culturally and linguistically diverse. Using the world as our broadest context for learning, our students engage in various ethical and environmental issues which help them to become knowledgeable globally-aware citizens unafraid of future challenges. Students are willing not only to communicate but also to participate in a compassionate way towards making our world a more respectful, peaceful and equitable place for all people.

International School of Luxembourg A.s.b.l. (the “School”) was incorporated as a Luxembourg non-profit association (association sans but lucratif) on 30 June 1972, for an unlimited duration. The School is governed by the Luxembourg law dated 21 April 1928 on non-profit making associations and foundations, as amended (the “1928 Law”), by the Luxembourg law dated 10 August 1915 on commercial companies (the “Commercial Law”), as amended and its articles of association. On 6 May 2014, the School was recognised as a public utility in Luxembourg: in accordance with article 26-2 of the 1928 Law. The Association shall have for its purpose the foundation, organisation, and administration of an English-language school in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg; especially for children whose parents, or other persons having legal or actual guardianship over them, have their residence on Luxembourg territory. Its program of studies shall prepare students for entrance into universities worldwide. The Association shall have as its purpose the promotion of all school or school-related activities for the benefit of the children named above, and any other activities associated directly or indirectly with its purpose or of a nature to promote its realisation. For the school year 2019/20, the total number of enrolled students was 1 383.

The school used to be very good, however it has lost all of its charm. They are implementing useless rules which do more harm than good. First of all, after being a little late they force you to wait outside for half an hour in the cold, making you miss even more school. They are also disrespectful to their student's well being and do not listen to any complaints from parents and students. They also heavily enforced a no phone policy, where students aren't allowed to use their phone at all in school campus during school time, this includes working, and contacting. I fully agree with this rule, except during vocational time at break and lunch. What makes this rule useless, is that students are allowed to play games and watch videos on their computer during lunch and break, however, are not allowed to even have a phone in their pocket. Going against the school and filing complaints only lands you in their "team talk", where teachers write about students who "disobey". This school has stopped caring about its students, and I do not recommend attending this school. Note, this is written from the perspective of attending school above 9th grade, I cannot speak for lower grades, and especially not for grades below 6th grade.

I went to school here. My parents used to always say that they'd send me here as a punitive measure, but to my shock they actually did send me here when I got caught doing some shenanigans at my local school. Lesson learned. Never under estimate your parents.

Failed some of my IGCSE test and set the fire alarm of too many times without teachers even noticing
